I wanted to write a post yesterday but could not remember my password. Wendy asked a very interesting question about where you knit yesterday.
- I don't knit in church. I always go with the Husband (usually just on holidays or when in SC visiting our friends, they go to a very cool church.) The Husband doesn't endorse KIP. I have knit exactly once in a restaurant with him and that was with Kristine and her Hubby. There is safety in numbers. Don't misunderstand, he supports my knitting wholeheartedly. Even encouraged me to bring it out at a friend's picnic on Labor Day weekend. I think he just likes my full attention when we are dining alone and would think it rude if I knitted while out with non-knitters.
- I don't knit at work. But I do get my fiber fix in! These days my work consists of a great deal of driving. I have not yet mastered knitting and driving. (Save a life, don't knit and drive.) I also spend a good deal of my day inside of knitting stores encouraging them to buy my knitting and my car is filled with yummy yarns. I do get to spend my evenings knitting.
I am not usually one to head directly to B&B's when traveling for business but recently thought I should look into them for a more homey feel on the road. I believe Andrea's Troy-Bumpas B&B has turned me into a B&B junky. The breakfasts were FANTASTIC! And the coffee, well Andrea and John take their coffee seriously and it shows.
I stayed at Andrea's Troy-Bumpas Inn Bed and Breakfast this week. What a wonderful atmosphere, I was working yet felt like I was visiting a dear friend's home but they weren't home. The innkeepers, Andrea and John, were very friendly but not overly-so that you felt like you were invading their home.
Take a look at this porch! Each evening, I'd sit on the porch knitting with two dogs sitting at my feet. Occasionally Ginger would nudge me for a little attention. And once Ginger got my attention, Sammy would come over for a pet. (Must be a dog-thing because Sophia and Bosco do the exact same routine.) Talk about making me feel at home! The local college marching band was practicing one evening, it was great entertainment while I rocked and knit.
The last night I was there I was in my room knitting and reading a magazine, one of the two children was playing the piano. It was no extra charge for the wonderful sounds. And I was just pleased to be knitting and listening.
Must go look to see if I can find a B&B near next week's travels. If you are going to Greensboro NC and looking for a place to stay, give Andrea's Troy-Bumpas Inn Bed and Breakfast a call.
Nothing new in Knitting News. I hope to have a completed Dolman soon!
