Remember we I said I ordered Shoe Addicts Anonymous by Beth Harbison a couple of weeks ago? Well, it was part of an order that Amazon's shipper lost. Not sure who might be reading the book and playing Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? but they are certainly having a good time. And probably reading up on the history of aprons.
I re-ordered Shoe Addicts Anonymous and it arrived this evening. As the Husband left for band practice a little before 7, he said "hey, there's a package from Amazon, feels like books."
I opened the package and was thrilled to find Shoe Addicts Anonymous inside. The front cover exclaims, "I read it addictively (ignored my children, forgot to eat) in one sitting." A quote from Valerie Frankel, author of Hex and the Single Girl & I Take This Man. Silly woman, who forgets to eat? Not me. I started making my dinner and reading the book. Sophia and Bosco have been ignored for the past 3 and a half hours. It's now 10:45 and the book was fabulous!
Jennifer Weiner's quote is "I would happily recommend Shoe Addicts Anonymous to anyone ho loves shoes . . . or to smart, funny, realistic women." I agree with her.
The Husband just walked in the door. After I showed him the book and explained that while he was being a rock star I'd finished it. His response was, "could you not get it from the library? You read too fast to actually buy books. Oh, it's about shoes. I should have guessed."
I actually checked the library for this book and they didn't have it. I must say it was worth every penny I spent. Shoe Addicts Anonymous is a wonderfully entertaining read. The characters are smart, well-established and slightly imperfect. Nothing to make you think "huh?" Enough twists to make it a page-turner. Beth Harbison is a good story teller.
I finished Killer Smile last night. Another hit by Lisa Scottoline. Just 3 more Scottoline books and I'll have read them all!
Thanks for everyone's recommendations on a new camera. I'm going to try to make a decision this weekend. In the meantime, I need to badger my fellow vacationers for their pictures.
Happy Knitting and Reading!
